My Vision for District 4

• Promote outdoor activity by adding exercise equipment at Terry Fox Park, serving all ages, from tots to seniors
• Inspire tweens and teens to get active through the installation of a pump track
• Facilitate a healthy lifestyle for residents by making outdoor exercise classes available in our parks
• Enhance our neighbourhood parks with benches and outdoor games, such as chess and ping pong tables
• Install free book exchange boxes, pergolas and pleasant seating areas in our green spaces
• Encourage pet and owner socialization by building a local dog run

My Vision for DDO

• Reduce speeding and increase road safety around schools and parks
• Ensure the maintenance of minimal tax increases for residents through continued efforts to attract quality businesses to our community
• Further develop the network of bicycle and pedestrian paths and sidewalks
• Expand upon community gardens initiatives, offering citizens the opportunity to engage socially while providing locally sourced produce to vulnerable families
• Introduce an intergenerational mentorship program, matching teens and young adults with retired professionals who can impart wisdom, experience and networking opportunities to the next generation
• Support local businesses through networking opportunities
• Offer classes on sustainable living through the library or online so that residents are empowered and motivated to make more sustainable choices
• Encourage teen engagement through enhanced activities and opportunities for community service hours
